As 2018 draws to a close, what better time to reflect and ask the team at neuco what their highlights of the last 12 months have been…
Tim – the Satellite Washington show was a real standout point in the year. It’s so great to get immersed in the industries we recruit in, and the being plied with Tom Collins' at the Satellite bar in downtown DC topped off a great trip! Another real highlight was visiting one of our client at a film studio…it’s always good to get out and see our clients, but even better that a live production was going on! while a production was going on. In general, 2018 has been a real development for me in visiting and getting to know our clients better, long may that continue into 2019!
Laurie – 2018 for me has been a reel of travel and new client highlights, it’s been brilliant on all levels! I’ve lost count of the trips I’ve been on, but the numerous trips to DC and also AfricaCom in Cape Town were outstanding…and good for business too! We’ve been delighted with the development of a number of new clients this year, and seeing the progression of Tim, Tom and Jake over the past 12 months has been really great to see. Looking forward to a cracking 2019!
Tom – 2018 has been a truly global year for me, having worked and completed projects in 5 continents, a brilliant challenge! I love that each country has its own business culture and individual nuances, and it’s been great getting my teeth stuck into each and building my skillset for recruiting globally. This year was also my first time out to Washington DC, at the offices of some of our biggest clients as well as Satellite Washington. It’s a great city, and one of the traditional hubs of the satellite world. It’s always nice putting faces to names, but I particularly enjoyed doing it in DC where I had heard so much about.
Jake – from making my first placements to learning about the industry, it’s been a whirlwind of a year! The biggest highlight for me though, has been the news that my wife and I will be having our first baby in early 2019, next year is certainly set to be a challenge! On a work level, heading to IBC in September was fantastic…injuring my foot just before meant I had to hobble for most of the show, but it was certainly worth it…technology might be changing the face of recruitment, but meeting people in person in your industry remains so powerful.
John – seeing the development of our team has been real highlight for me during 2018, the strides forward they’ve made has made them better and continues to help us push neuco forwards as a business. IBC was also a major highlight for me, and a real change compared to years gone by – of the 60 or so meetings I had, well over 50 were full of positivity about their businesses. It was awesome to see so many companies being upbeat about the future, despite the relative global economic uncertainty. Lastly, I’m delighted to be growing neuco again and welcoming Ewan to our team at the start of 2019!
Will – so many highlights to choose from!! From Jake joining and doing so well for a rookie, to our many trips to DC as well as CommunicAsia in Singapore and AfricaCom in Cape Town. IBC was a fantastic show for us, and seeing the commitment of poor Jake staggering with a wince on his face the whole show was great testament to his attitude! Refining our 3 year plan and delivering this to the team ahead of getting lost on the Surrey Hills (!) was a wonderful day out, as was our Christmas day out at Plumpton races followed by a fabulous evening in Lewes. Roll on 2019, I can’t wait!
Ewan – the outstanding highlight of 2018 is undoubtedly being offered a career at neuco…they’re a totally amazing group and I can’t wait to start working with such legends…note, Ewan starts in January and may not have written his own highlights ;-)
